There Is So Much I Regret
Hi! It’s me, Jonah, the baritone saxophonist. Remember?
Today, I have a new single to share with you:

The album is out March 8th on We Jazz Records, and you can pre-order it on vinyl right now. When you pre-order you are sending me a signal that you are glad I am doing what I do. I’m grateful for your signals.
The title of this track, ‘There Is So Much I Regret’, is a note to self.
Infallibility is one of the most useful tools in the masterfully cultivated gardens of power, and acknowledging a mistake is one of the brightest red lines of the ruling elite. Just look at the quantity of daily suffering we inflict to maintain systems that are obviously broken. I want to be ashamed of these systems. I want to be fallible.
This composition is an invitation to take stock of my decisions and own each of my regrets. It is a reflection on actively relinquishing the power of infallibility, a power that society is structurally designed to readily offer people who look like me. Power can be relinquished by choice, but it will never be the easiest choice.
My original email continues from here with a series of facts about myself, and about power. But truthfully it was just a lot of dancing around the core idea. So I took it out. Then I got nervous and added this paragraph. Which I probably should also delete. Maybe I already have? Although, if you’re reading it, probably not.
If you haven’t already, I would be so grateful if you took a listen:
Another exciting development is that I have a dozen tour dates coming up. How about coming to see me in real life? Like I said in my last email, this album, this music, is all about us being together. So let’s do it!
